In the WWE Elimination Chamber, Ronda Rousey and Naomi will team up against SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville!
From the moment Naomi came to a violent showdown, WWE official Sonya Deville showed undeniable disdain for the two-time SmackDown Women’s Championship and used nefarious means to make her life a living hell. This included commissioning The Glowing Superstar with two different championship contender matches against Flair.
Meanwhile, in the wake of her victory in the Royal Rumble Match, Ronda Rousey appeared on SmackDown for the first time ever and announced that she would challenge Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. When the confrontation turned volatile, Deville made the mistake of trying to use physical force to assert her power, locking The Baddest Woman on the Planet into a brutal arm lock.
The following week, Deville found herself unable to use her position to snatch gains from Rousey. According to an email sent by WWE President Mr. McMahon, Sonya has been prevented from fining or suspending The Rowdy One. Deville also learned that she couldn’t get her hands on Naomi, especially during Naomi’s SmackDown women’s match against Flair. In response, Naomi appeared and seized the opportunity to slap Sonya in the middle of the ring without the risk of repercussions.
Although Flair would defeat Naomi in the subsequent women’s title match on SmackDown, Sonya after the contest in which Sonya jeered on defeated Naomi allowed for a 2-on-1 attack by Queen and Devil. This prompted a Russian to the rescue. Shortly after The Baddest Woman on the Planet sent out Flair’s packets and once Deville’s other arm was nearly closed, the WWE Tag Team Match for Elimination Chamber became official.
